The idea behind Cottage Home is to build only a few homes a year and make the process as enjoyable as possible. We pride ourselves on our ability to learn our client’s lifestyle and dreams, and translate those into a summer home they will truly enjoy for generations. Who says this can’t be fun?
A team of the best artisans and tradespeople coordinate your build process with precision and control to ensure the highest quality results. Consistency, predictability and accountability are trademarks of Cottage Home’s construction activities. Through this exciting and creative experience, you will have unlimited access to Cottage Home’s Client Liaison, who will consistently provide you with construction status updates via email, telephone and photographs.
When the big day arrives, you’ll spend time with Brian in your home orientation walkthrough, as he reviews each area of your new home with you. We are happy to assist you with move-in. After that, you’ll continue to be impressed by Cottage Home and our efficient warranty service program. We want you to be as happy with and excited about your new beach house as we are, and look forward to maintaining our relationship with you as a Cottage Home customer for life!
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Green Building Rating System was developed by the U.S Green Building Council (USGBC) to provide a set of standards for environmentally sustainable construction. This third-party certification process has become a nationally recognized benchmark for the development and construction of high-performance, integrated whole-building designs, for many homeowners and builders.
Cottage Home has now built 32 LEED homes, some of which are featured below. 13 of our homes have received LEED Platinum Certification, the highest level a home can obtain through LEED. Our most recent LEED certified home is the Watershed, which was certified at the Gold level in October. This past June, Cottage Home became one of only 25 builders nationwide to receive a “LEED Homes Power Builder” designation by the US Green Building Council.
A LEED home is awarded for integrating a sustainable design so a home uses less energy, water and natural resources, creates less waste and is healthier and more comfortable for its homeowners. There are many benefits of a LEED home, including lower energy and water bills, reduced greenhouse gas emissions, and less exposure to indoor toxins. Having a LEED Certified home means peace of mind for the homeowner.
Cottage Home is known for excellent customer service. When your home is complete, we’re happy to offer you as much move-in assistance as you need, from accepting deliveries on your behalf, moving in boxes and setting up furniture, to hanging pictures.
What you may not know is that the Cottage Home warranty is two years, as opposed to the traditional one year new home warranty. While we truly believe that we have delivered an outstanding home to you, we understand that after occupying your home for a while you may find the need for warranty service. Our two-year warranty describes the guidelines we use in evaluating and performing this type of service. We have an established warranty service process, and you can count on us to be responsive, efficient, and proactive in any such service needed in your new Cottage Home.
As with any warranty, there’s a certain amount of legal jargon in the language; we’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have.
