Cottage Watch

To take our services a step further, many of our clients have hired us to manage their new lake property, which we’re happy to do on a monthly or even weekly basis through our Cottage Watch program. This involves periodic inspections of the interior and exterior of the house, with a detailed checklist emailed to you including the following:

  • Inspect all exterior windows and doors to ensure they are locked and secure.
  • Examine roof, windows and doors for signs of moisture or damage.
  • Check entire perimeter of property, exterior landscape elements and grade.
  • Clean up storm debris as needed.
  • Looks for signs of pests or insects.
  • Check pool and spa and verify gates are closed and secure.
  • Check Lp level, if applicable.
  • Inspect HVAC systems to make sure humidity and temperatures are on the correct settings and operating properly.
  • Inspect furnace filter and humidifier pad, changing if needed.
  • Run water in plumbing fixtures.
  • Check appliances.
  • Check phone lines, satellite or cable, internet connectivity, etc.
  • Oversee all subcontractors, maintenance and service providers.
  • Winterization and spring start up of outdoor showers, kitchens and irrigation systems.
  • Installation and removal of porch panels in the spring and fall.
  • Seasonally move outdoor furniture into and out of storage.
  • Change smoke alarm batteries.
  • and anything else you can think of……..!
