Entry-Level Carpenter

We are looking for a hardworking individual with a high school diploma who wants to learn the trade of carpentry. Our experienced carpenters will train and mentor this talented individual – no prior experience is required! This hands-on opportunity with on-site experience will allow you to establish yourself with a team prepared to guide you through the learning process.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Work under the direction of lead carpenters to learn and perform skilled carpentry work
  • Learn detailed workmanship on custom cabinets, finished carpentry and other customer-inspired ideas
  • Develop skills to design, build, and install custom cabinets, install crown molding, beams, doors and windows

Job Requirements & Skill Sets

  • High school diploma
  • No carpentry experience required
  • A desire to pursue a career in the construction industry, particularly in carpentry
  • Physical strength and endurance to carry out physical carpentry tasks
  • Math and problem-solving skills necessary to modify products that require adjusting

Interior Designer

It is our mission to provide every client with an exceptional experience throughout the design/build process and beyond. We are looking for an individual with an eye for trends and style to play a pivotal role in bringing clients’ vision to life while maintaining our signature Cottage Home look. We are searching for empathetic and attentive individuals who recognize the client doesn’t go through this process often—this is a significant life experience and should be a rewarding one.

 

Role & Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients, providing selection options to fulfill the construction specifications
  • Research and understand products and finishes used in homes
  • Help communicate construction specification changes through change orders
  • Ensure selections room is kept current with appropriate samples and in good condition
  • Select, purchase and decorate all model homes, per the guidelines of the construction budget
  • Assist the marketing team by answering any design or product questions on Houzz 
  • Help develop cabinet plans
  • Ensure finished product is consistent with the look and feel of past Cottage Home products while representing the client’s individual style and vision

Job Requirements & Skill Sets

  • One year of prior experience
  • Ability to capture a client’s vision and develop a trusting relationship with the client
  • Present curated selections options
  • Guide clients through the selection process
  • Assess selections in terms of functionality, aesthetics, and feasibility 
  • Reassure clients of their selections during the build
  • Communicate selections clearly to the Cottage Home team 
  • Assist and ensure that the documentation is up-to-date and accurate 
  • Assist clients with furniture layout and selection

Property Maintenance Technician

hard-working Property Maintenance Technician who will help us maintain our clients’ beautiful homes along Lake Michigan. This individual will work alongside our home
services and cleaning teams to make sure every home lives up to the Cottage Home
standard.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Work with the home services team to prepare and maintain properties both
    indoors and out
  • Take care of yard work as well as interior maintenance needs
  • Assist the cleaning team with interior and exterior cleaning and power washing
